Atopic Dermatitis Control Tool (ADCT)
The Atopic Dermatitis Control Tool (ADCT) was developed for patient self-assessment for a better understanding of the disease and anticipate the needs of a patient. It is comprised of 6 easy to interpret questions designed for use in routine consultations. The ADCT comprehensively assesses multiple aspects of patients’ disease and facilitates doctor-patient communication about the optimal management of atopic dermatitis (AD). The ADCT has been validated for both adult and pediatric (≥12 years old) use.

Each questioned is scored between 0-4 points from left to right. All 6 questions must be tallied for an accurate total score between 0-24 points. AD is considered not well controlled if the total score ≥7 points. For assessment in control status over time, a change of ≥5 points since the last assessment is considered a clinically relevant threshold in AD control.
